Tyrone Baines is passionate, determined, and courageous man with a burning desire to eliminate discrimination on the basis of the color of one's skin. He has dedicated his life to achieving this freedom through his work at North Carolina Central University and with several organizations dedicated to the advancement of marginalized groups, but having his wife, Shereatha, and his frat brothers by his side has made this journey all the more worth it. Another major component of Tyrone's life is his faith. He grew up in a church-going family and has carried this practice with him throughout his entire life. He lives life to the fullest and always has a bright smile on his face.
I would like to thank Tyrone for giving me the opportunity to shadow him throughout this process. Taking a look into his life has been more than I ever expected it to be and he has taught me so much. I would also like to thank Tyrone's wife, Shereatha, for playing a major role in this process. She is one of the sweetest women I have ever met, and my project would be lacking if it weren't for her. Getting to know these two throughout this process has been absolutely amazing. I not only think of them as my subjects, but also as my friends. The greatest thing I have taken away from this experience is to work towards what I want in life and to do it with a smile on my face.
